The world’s largest food manufacturer in terms of revenue, Nestlé, has announced plans to add a $17 million expansion to the Tongala factory in Australia’s Victoria region. Unlike the current branches of the Tongala factory that are operational, this new expansion will focus on liquid foods and food products, giving the company footing in a new direction. Although there’s still some work to be done to the new Tongala factory, Nestlé has already opened their doors and to begin production on their liquid products. To learn more about this new Tolgala branch and what Nestlé is hoping to accomplish with it, keep reading.

Unless you’re familiar with Nestlé and their line of products, you might be wondering just what types of liquid products they produce. After all, most people know Nestlé for their numerous candy bars sold on the shelves on grocery and convenience stores. While the company is certainly responsible for producing some deliciously popular candy bars, they also make some nutritional drinks such as Resource, Isosource, Sustagen. In addition to health drinks, Nestlé also plans to produce 10-Minute Marinade and various condensed milk products.

Nestlé hopes this recent addition will allow their Tongola factory to become a central food manufacturing hub for Oceania, Asia, Middle East and Africa. This may seem a little bold, but I think it’s safe to say that Nestlé knows what they’re doing in this situation. Founded in 1905, Nestle has become one of the most successful food manufacturers in the world with a market capitalization of $200 billion. In addition to their high-quality products and exceptional leadership, Nestlé is constantly giving back to the community and investing in clean, renewable energy, which is something everyone should be doing more of.

As Nestlé makes the finishing touches on their Tongola factory branch, a total of 30 jobs should open up over the next few years. While the branch has already opened their doors, Nestlé still needs to install and get their factory lines running, which is going to take some time. In any case, they plan to have the new liquid-manufacturing factory up and running in just a few years.

According to factory manager Mathew Oram, the new factory should produce 7,000 tonnes of product by the end 2013. As a result of this heavy production, Nestlé expects to be able to supply Australia and many other regions with their liquid food products.
