June 18, 2013 – The City of Waterloo on Monday announced the approval of $200,000 of seed funding for Canada’s Technology for Food (CTFF), a project that is designed to produce innovative technology solutions for food and beverage processors in the city.

The brainchild of Waterloo’s Economic Development Committee (WEDC), CTFF is led by Ted McKechnie, former president of Maple Leaf Foods.

Together with the Accelerator Centre, an award-winning centre for the cultivation of technology entrepreneurship funded by the federal and provincial governments, City of Waterloo and other parties, CTFF will support the growth of technologies that advance jobs, improve food safety, increase food and agricultural technology exports, and encourage investment in food processing.
